It’s amazing the things you learn about yourself when you write, even semi-regularly. Here at the Cafe, I want to inspire folks to connect to one another and engage in the special needs community. Now there are several other sites that are phenomenal for those of us who have kids with special needs. In an upcoming post I’ll even highlight a few of my favorites when I award them the Versatile Blogger Award. But as crazy as it sounds, I’m more than a special needs mom.
I know, it’s nuts.
I live and breathe about my kids, after all.
Right?
I think it’s time the Cafe lived up to its name and expanded just a bit. After playing with a deadline for a while now, I’ve decided to formally announce the grand opening of the Cafe Writing Corner and Open Mic Night. August 29th will mark the Grand opening of the Writing Corner and I invite you to sign up for the grand adventure through the Facebook Page for the Cafe, where I”m launching an “Event” to spread the word.
Each day, I’ll post a clue at the Cafe’s Page on Facebook about what you can expect at this new corner of the Cafe. Follow along to learn all I have planned. An even bigger announcement will be made on the 29th about a major new undertaking the Cafe has been working on behind the scenes.
Well, here’s the thing – I write and blog, but I’d really love a diverse crowd of voices at the Corner. So I’m looking for one-time posts (they can already be published) and guest bloggers. All posts and guest bloggers will receive Link Love and lots of extra exposure! I want to provide lots of great information to you all, so while I expect to reach out to those writing in the special needs community, I will be accepting expert posts on topics relating to blogging and writing. If you are interested, please contact me in the comments below, via Twitter, or on Facebook.
Spread the Word! Tweet about it! Share it up on Facebook! Share some link love on Google+. Tell your friends, and anyone else you think might want to be involved. I need readers just as much as writers!
Above all, won’t you support this blogging adventure? The Cafe is a place for us to come together, to make connections, and to grow. let the fun begin and above all – let’s remember to make those connections. Blogging is a two-part venture, after all!
Nice article!!! It is definitely an adventure! You do a great job!

We can always improve, though, and I feel like an amateur compared to some of the great sites I aspire to emulate out there! (look! big words! LOL)
This sounsd like it's going to be a great deal of fun. If I had more time on my plate, I'd participate but unfortunately work takes the majority of it. I will keep a look out though to see what you're doing!

Thanks so much Angel! Between work and life I am hoping I can keep up with it all!
I would love a chance to be a guest blogger. In the meantime I will post some information on my blog so I can hopefully send some others over here. As a side note I was following you, but the last update I received in Google Reader was from June 27th. I stumbled on your blog again through Voiceboks today. I tried to unfollow and then re-follow in hopes that it would fix it self, but it did not. Do you know if anyone else is having problems?

I've had a few issues with different Google features – my WebMaster Tools isn't showing my stats at all, and you're not the first to say something about the Google Reader issue. I guess it's time for some researching. Joy.
Another VB friend? How wonderful! I'm still getting used to the site but am loving the many connections I'm making there!
I’m a teacher, 7th grade social studies, so I could provide a different perspective, maybe. If you’re interested, you can email me at fullcartfullwallet (at) gmail.com
I found you through the vB GFC hop
