Giving Christmas at Kat’s Cafe – Nominate, Give, Receive!

Let’s Start a New Christmas Tradition – a Giving Christmas at Kat’s Cafe!

Join the Cafe in Giving Christmas this yearWe all know it’s better to give than to receive, but at Christmastime it’s hard to give to others when you want to provide for your own family. I get that, I totally do. But this year I want to challenge you, just a little bit, to think outside your own family for a few minutes as you read this post!

I know many are struggling this Christmas, and the Moody gang is no different, BUT … there are some among who us who will literally be struggling to put dinner on the table this holiday season, much less a present or two under the tree.

Now, I do have a big surprise coming along with our Special Needs Family Gift Guide this year – the Cafe and a few other great bloggers will be having 10 Days of Giving – with giveaways and a huge giveaway to provide Christmas to at least ONE special needs family. I’ll be asking for nominations in an upcoming post for a special needs family who you think could use a bit of Christmas giving.

But we won’t be able to help every family – and there are a LOT of special needs families hurting this year. So here’s what I’m asking — when we open up nominations for the Special Needs Christmas Giveaway to provide one Christmas for a special needs family, we’ll publish the nominations anonymously as well.

Maybe you can’t give an entire Christmas to one special needs family – but would you consider donating a toy? A gift certificate for groceries? Something special for mom and/or dad? A coat for a child in a wheelchair who might need a customized coat (one of our gift guide honorees will be the amazing folks from Koolway Sports, who do just this!)? From $1 to $100 – anything you give, any item you can give, can help us provide Christmas for as many families as possible.

So what about you and your family? Can you think about making it a Giving Christmas this year? Pledge to act in the comments and spread this post and the upcoming ones around and let’s see if we can make Christmas count for some families in real need this year!

Kat’s Note: Are you a company, brand, or small business would like to give this Giving Christmas in your business’ name? We’ll be happy to include a gift certificate of your choice, from your business to a deserving family. Use the contact form here to talk with Kat and help us make Christmas dreams come true!

Thanks Pamela! We’re sure hoping to reach a lot of needy families this holiday, but even if we only reach one that will be a great way to celebrate as well! Thanks so much for stopping by! Do you take part in any kinds of Christmas giving initiatives?

What a great challenge to put out there. When things are tough and it’s a little harder to give, even more important that we trust it’s the right thing to do. Loved this post and love your heart!

Thanks Sue – so very very true! There are so many people hurting for even one gift to put under the tree this year, and many more unsure about even dinner. It weighs heavy on my mind to help as many of my fellow special needs parents as much as possible. I wish I was more than one woman and that I was a millionaire – I could give so much more!

Thanks so much Edmund – my hope is that we can all make a difference, a little bit at a time! Giving is always a good recipe for recovering from the heaviness of life, too. {hugs} Thanks so much for visiting Edmund!
