Giving Christmas Begins! But what the Heck is it?

Giving Christmas Starts at the Cafe Today! What’s Involved?

I’m waiting on a few last-minute sponsors in the Gift Guide to finalize details but plan to have that live later today or first thing tomorrow for Giving Christmas here at the Cafe. But an amazing Gift Guide is NOT the only part of this campaign!

Join Giving Christmas at the Cafe and Win!

What’s Next with Giving Christmas?

Well, now it’s time for the Giving part to kick in! We have some amazing folks highlighted in the great Gift Guide for Special Needs Families – with more items for the family rather than the toys (you can find great toys anywhere – we wanted something unique!) – and you can give these great companies AND the Cafe a great boost by SHARING the campaign posts, gift ideas for family and friends, and the rest of the campaign information.

With each post for Giving Christmas, beginning today, we will be sharing a Giving Widget from Chip In – this will help us track funds raised for what we hope will be a SPECTACULAR Christmas for at least one special needs family. We’re not asking for the world – whatever you can afford – from $1 to $100 (we can dream!). These funds are for our nominated families in the Giving Christmas campaign.

Beginning today, I’ll accept nominations for the Special Needs Family Gift of Christmas (watch for the special page here at the Cafe – I’ll add the link a bit later today!). While all the regular giveaways at the Cafe are just that – giveaways that anyone can win, these nominations are so that a deserving family can receive the collection of gifts our gift guide participants have given us for just this purpose.

Our hope? That we’ll receive more donations and be able to help more families!

What Comes Next for Giving Christmas?

We will be publishing the Gift Guide as soon as the participants and potential sponsors all get back to us, hopefully no later than early tomorrow, but we will start announcing highlighted products later today with a combination of reviews and giveaways!

Later today we’ll also have the official Giving Christmas at the Cafe page LIVE so you can see all the current posts (and upcoming giveaways!), the Giving Widget, and the nominations for special needs families to receive our Giving Christmas prize.

The official Giving Widget will be launched later today as well so there are lots of ways for you to be a part of the Cafe’s Christmas celebration!

RIGHT NOW – I’d love to HEAR from YOU!!! What kinds of products do you hope we’ll be revealing, do you hope you’ll win? Do you know a family in need this year? A family who has a child with special needs? TELL us about it in the comments!

Please Choose us. We could really use this. Praise the Lord for all you do… We have very little money and would like a good Christmas for the kids. But if Not I understand there are more people in need other than us. Bless you for doing this.

We’d love to consider your family! Could you use the Contact Kat tab at the top of the site to go to the Contact Form and drop me a bit more information? We’d love more information about your family, your needs, and your permission to publish your basic info (not extremely personal info) as well as some verification info?

      Thanks so much!

    Hello Kat’s Cafe,

Please, help this family, for Christmas this year, be reunited again. A mother, who needs her 16 year old daughter, is lost this Christmas. Her family did not have Thanksgiving, because her electricity was turned off. Why do they do that? Don’t they get enough money, such a large business. Do the really need to turn off the power, to a woman with children, the day before Thanksgiving? What made this bad was, the bill was less than $200.00! This truly happened people! Makes me want to write long letters, to Everyone I can think up!

I would like to see her have Christmas, with her missing daughter. Her daughter was violently taken, right in front of her, in her own home, by her husband.

Everything has been arranged. Both States worked together, with the help of many police, detectives, child protection agencys, National missing childrens network, and many more. Hundreds of people are involved to help Michelle. In October she was contacted by the detective coordinating all these people, Never in his 30 years has he seen any State put up such a fight to stop him. He tells Michelle to go, Leave on a plane tonight! She’s devastated, the call she has been waiting for, she can not go! No money to pay the airfare prices, one round trip, and another one way ticket.

I do not understand why a State would refuse to follow National laws. State law is Always under any National laws. Apparently, this State can get away with this. He is getting help through his judge of a father! If this man lived three miles away, they could arrest him and get her daughter home. He got lucky.

Michelle has desperately been trying to pay for airfare, these past four months. All that is required, to reunite her with her child is: airfare, and a motel for 2a few days. She needs to travel from Portland, Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona, and back again with her daughter. She also would be grateful for a motel for a few days, allowing her to take the necessary court, DA, and police trips this endeavor requires of her. Preferably near the public transportation system they have there.

She was granted court documents, that give her sole custody. Another restraining order, and other court documents needed. Then she started calling, and she was serious about it! All around the United States. What she found out during the first week was….There is not one place she could get the help she needed! I am not joking people! She even contacted airlines, no luck
there, they want that all important money!

This Needs To Be Corrected Society! Can we call it that anymore, with issues like this that occur? I have my doubts people!

The following months crawl by, slowly. Around the middle of November, she starts losing it. All she can do is call, hear No.. with the radio on, not eating or sleeping anymore. She spends more and more time staring out the window, giving up hope, crying. Her other children see that she is seriously not ok anymore. They try helping at first, getting her to drink or eat simple things, fruit, toast. After a few weeks, when it becomes clear she will not take anything at all, they start avoiding her, knowing they can not help her. They are hurting as well. Every day is worse than the day before. Her children reach out for help, ask all friends and neighbors to get involved. Everyone trys, first it looks promising. Soon they all know Michelle has reached a dangerous place. When a friend takes her to the store, she throws up in the meat area. Saying the smell made her sick, they know she is starving. Now she refuses to answer her door, see anyone at all. She has blocked herself off. She simply can not take much more of this. Please believe me, Michelle desperately needs her 16 year old daughter back.

This is a truly good woman, who gave up her life for her children. I would like her to be reunited with her daughter for Christmas. If there is any way to help this wonderful, caring mother, Please help her. Thank you for taking the time to read this, God bless.
