Giving Tuesday started as an idea and grew to a huge effort, encompassing over 2000 amazing nonprofits and related groups who wanted to help people give back in the same way they shopped til they dropped: with passion and drive!
Though I love shopping for deals as much as the next guy (when we have the money!), there’s something almost … hopeful … about an initiative to help us give more, isn’t there?
Here’s a video with a bit more information on this *new* kind of Holiday Tradition I think we could all share a bit of ourselves with (it’s not always about money!)
Wait ’til I share what the Moodys will be doing as part of #GivingTuesday this year!

Passively Participating (but still appreciated!)
Follow the Giving Tuesday folks across social media, share, retweet, and like the stuffing out of their posts and spread the word through your different social media accounts. This will help them get the word out, right? So here’s their info:

Make Donations a family affair: Even if it is only a bit of change, having kids participate can ignite the philanthropic bug early, and it’s a great way to get your kids interested in the community around them!
Make Material Donations instead of Monetary ones: Put together the stuff you can’t seem to use anymore, the old toys no one plays with anymore, old kitchen bowls and pots and pans you refuse to use – donate them to a crisis shelter, Goodwill, or a local donation center.
Your Turn:
What can you do for Giving Tuesday? Be Creative and leave me a comment to tell me all about it! I can’t wait to see what everyone else is doing – and will share what the Moody’s contribution to Giving Tuesday is tomorrow!
