A New Take on Cyber Week – Giving instead of Getting

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Cyber Week — They kind of blend together

As a blogger who earns my living online, the last several days I have seen an influx of offers and Ebooks and specials, all designed to make us very wary shoppers part with our hard-earned dough.

I have to admit, I was tempted to offer an Ebook, and leave any further ideas to a better day. In case you don’t know me, I’ll just invite you to read my previous post on New Beginnings at the Cafe , in which I shared about how I lost my entire site over the past weekend.

Did you miss that? I LOST MY SITE – all the formatting, all the theme details, all the hours I spent making it look the way I wanted it to look. Yikes! So I was surprisingly busy this weekend in between my site issues and regular work. And then, I had to go and get sick. Because bad things always happen in threes (threes, I tell you … so I’m done! No more!).

About that great Ebook Idea

I wracked my brain trying to decide what I could offer you amazing folks that you would care about at all, and determined the only thing I really have is a bit of myself. So I spoke with a friend of mine who is involved with an Epilepsy foundation, and decided I would do something just a little bit different.

  • I’m going to offer an Ebook – a small one, and I’m going to offer a bonus, because I’m cool that way.
  • Not only will this deal NOT cost a small fortune
  • 1/2 of ALL proceeds will be forwarded on to the Epilepsy Warrior’s Foundation in honor of Epilepsy Awareness Month.

The Epilepsy Warrior’s Foundation

This site also has a corresponding group on Facebook and has to be one of the THE most helpful resources I have found as the parent of children with Epilepsy. Not only is the group full of other parents, but there are also many adults who have dealt with Epilepsy most their lives who are able to put symptoms into words and offer further encouragement.

When I had problems figuring out a new type of seizure Logan was displaying, one of the members of the Foundation, Joseph Laxama, spent time surveying the video we recorded of Logan’s seizure and comparing different symptoms to help me know what to tell the neurologist and how to ask for further testing.

Yes, this group, this Foundation, is that hands on and amazing. So I can’t think of a better benefactor to mark the end of Epilepsy Awareness Month than to end with a bang, forwarding on 50% of monies from all Ebooks purchased directly to their Foundation. I spoke with Susan Noble, Director and Founder of the organization, and will be forwarding the monies directly through to her via Paypal.

As an added bonus, I will also allow additional donations to be included with your purchase, and 100% of those donations will be forwarded on to the Foundation.

If you aren’t sure, feel free to check out the web only version of In the Silence, which I published here earlier this year as an Epilepsy Awareness piece. While you can read that here at the Cafe, it looks much better in the pretty Ebook, and you receive other original nonfiction works of mine as well as the bonus offering of Cafe favorites.

And watch out for a LIMITED way to purchase the new CommentLuv Premium plugin and have part of your purchase price given to the Foundation as well … it’s all about giving back this week at the Cafe.

  2. Kat, I love, love, love your new post. “… it’s all about giving back this week at the Cafe” is terrific! So well done on so many levels. Love the graphics and Pretty Poster.

I did notice that you might want to make that italic last sentence a larger font size so it stands out.

Let us know how this promotion does for the Epilepsy Warriors Foundation, please.
